Great experience! We are training professionals with little experience in finance and real estate and so naturally were reluctant to approach a buyer’s agent. We wondered how much value would it really add?
Now having successfully purchased a property in a competitive Sydney market we can say Henderson added value in a few crucial areas:
Understanding what we wanted - they took the time to understand our budget and the details of the property that were important to us.
Being available for inspections - Even if we weren’t free, the team would do the inspection and a video would be sent to us. They were able to then advise us on properties they thought met our criteria and those that did not suit.
Suburb and price comparisons - this proved useful to understand our position, what to expect and helped us quickly understand local markets
Negotiation - this really was the most impressive aspect of Henderson’s offering and is why we will use them again. Henderson ran point on negotiations on our behalf whilst we were at work and unable to engage with vendors. They would pull out when the auction went over budget, advise against paying more for a property that did not have the value reflected by the price and eventually once successful we think they probably saved us ~$150-250k on the purchase price.
